What is Papercut?
Papercut is the new software that manages the printers and copiers around the school. There are some major differences with the system we used to have and it also brings a host of new features that will make your life easier. So let’s get started…
How do printer credits work?
Credits are allocated to “Shared Accounts”. Both groups of users and users can be members of these shared accounts. Shared accounts can be departments (For ex. Computing) or specific budget accounts (For ex. “Raising Standards”).
Users have no credits themselves.
How do I select Shared accounts while printing?
If you only belong to one Shared account, you won’t get asked at the time of printing.
If you belong to more than one, then a popup will appear when you print. By default, one Shared account will be selected but you can use the drop down menu to select another. While photocopying you will be asked on screen to select a “shared account”.
How can I track my printing?
While on the school network, you now have access to a portal, you can find links (for boths users and admins) on the staff page for it.
The “papercut” icon is for general access and the “papercut admin” icon is for reprographics.
Once you login with your network username and password, you can then click on “shared accounts” to see what shared accounts you have access to and how much money is on them.
Can I print with a standalone laptop or from home?
Yes! There is a tool you can install, just liaise with IT.
